Semarang, C Java (ANTARA News) - World Boxing Association (WBA) title holder Chrisjon who was scheduled to have a mandatory fight next March will have two sparring partners from Mexico to practice with, assistant to his manager said. The Indonesian boxer is scheduled to face his Mexican contender Juan Manuel Marquez from Mexico in Tenggarong, Kutai Kertanegara district, East Kalimantan province on March 4 this year, Tony Priatna, the assistant to his Australian manager Herry Gyms said here Thursday. The two Mexican sparring partners will be flown to Perth, Australia, Tony said, whilen declining to name the Mexican boxers. "I have no authority to mention the name of the sparring partners, as this is the strategy of Chrisjon to meet the mandatory fight," he said, giving no reason why Chrisjon`s sparring partners should come from Mexico. However, it seems Chrisjon would like to know character of Mexican boxers because Marquez is from Mexico, Tony said. Thus, the pugilist, born in Banjarnegara district, will be able to make anticipatory preparations before facing Marquez, he said. On earlier occasions, Tony said the schedule for the mandatory fight was previously set on December 9, 2005, but it was postponed due to Chrisjon`s ankle`s injury. The bout was then rescheduled on February 4, 2006. Chrisjon is also expected to have another sparring partner from the Philippines to prepare for the mandatory bout, Tony said. out. Meanwhile, a national boxing promotor from East Kalimantan, HM Arsyad said his side will invite cabinet members and former national boxers to watch the mandatory fight between Chrisjon and Marguez.(*)
